A Practice Built Around Families, Not Cases
Damai Keluarga was established to give families in Malaysia a place where difficult matters are handled with patience and genuine care — without the cold formality that family situations do not need.
Back to HomeHow Damai Keluarga Began
The name Damai Keluarga means family peace. It was chosen deliberately — because the families who came to us for help were not looking for a fight. They were looking for a way through a difficult time with as much dignity and calm as could be preserved.
Our practice was founded in Bangsar Baru by a small group of solicitors who had seen, too many times, how legal processes could leave families feeling worse rather than better. They believed that a legal practice could be built differently — one where the pace of work reflected the human pace of processing difficult news, where conversations were genuinely private, and where the measure of success included how clients felt at the end, not just what had been legally achieved.
That founding belief shapes every aspect of how we work today. From how we answer the phone, to how we structure the first meeting, to how we handle documentation — everything is considered through the lens of what a worried, often overwhelmed family member actually needs.
Our Mission
To make legal support in family matters feel human. We want every person who walks through our door — or contacts us online — to feel heard before they feel advised, and supported before they feel challenged.
Compassion
We approach every matter as the significant personal situation it is, not as a routine legal transaction.
Fairness
We aim for outcomes that are balanced and sustainable, recognising that families often need to continue relating to each other long after a matter is resolved.
Discretion
The details of your situation belong to you. We handle every matter with strict confidentiality as a baseline, not a feature.
The People Behind the Practice
A small, experienced team who chose family law because they believe thoughtful legal support genuinely changes how families come through difficult times.

Our Standards of Practice
These are the commitments we hold ourselves to in every matter we handle.
Bar Council Membership
All solicitors at Damai Keluarga are admitted to the Malaysian Bar and hold current practising certificates in good standing.
Strict Confidentiality
Legal professional privilege applies to all communications. We maintain internal protocols that go beyond the minimum required by law.
Clear Fee Agreements
Every engagement begins with a written fee agreement so there are no surprises. We explain costs in plain terms before any commitment is made.
Regular Client Updates
We keep clients informed at every stage — not just when something significant happens, but regularly, so waiting never becomes worrying.
Client-Led Pace
Where the process allows, we work at the pace that the client is comfortable with — not the fastest pace the procedure permits.
Continuing Professional Development
Our solicitors maintain ongoing CPD in family law, mediation practice, and wellbeing-informed legal service delivery.
Family Law Support in Kuala Lumpur
Damai Keluarga has been serving families across Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley from our Bangsar Baru office. Our work covers the full range of family matters that may require legal assistance — from early conversations about separation, through to the practical steps of formalising arrangements or appearing in court on a client's behalf.
Family law in Malaysia sits across civil and religious jurisdictions, and the pathway through any given matter depends heavily on individual circumstances. We take time at the outset to understand exactly what situation a client is in before offering any recommendation, because the same outcome may be reached by very different routes, and the right route for one family is not necessarily right for another.
Our approach to mediation draws on structured dialogue methods and a genuine commitment to keeping communication constructive. Agreements reached through mediation tend to hold better over time than those imposed through adversarial processes, because the parties have had a voice in shaping them. This is particularly important when children are involved and ongoing co-parenting remains necessary.
For matters that have reached a formal stage, our representation service is designed to take the detail off a client's shoulders while keeping them as informed and involved as they want to be. We prepare thoroughly, communicate considerately with other parties, and attend on the client's behalf where appropriate.
